The Part
Where you tell me I’m wrong
And you agree
The one little note
I sing off key
The Place
Where you stand in front of me
And I ask
For your hand
Please look at me
I’m flailing in a share size skittles bag of misspeaks and metaphorical asymmetries
Who needs eggshells when you’ve got glass
My humor, humility, hamminess, hostility
All showing up tip-toeing flash dancing
Discouraged yet performance abound
Dumb puppy’s owner, found
I pee on your heart
And poop in your shoes
So happy to be home
So confused
You shame me aside
Stick my nose in my poo
Yer right you’re right ok yes you too
I’ll lick my own wounds
Shed my old coat outside
I’ll do anything for your love
Just keep me
Hold me
Tell me you love me
Can we do all that inside?
It’s silly cold out here at the edge of your yard
In the shadows of your light
It’s fine
Ok
I’ll stay here for the night
But if morning should come with no you
I may move along
What’s good for the gander maybe not so
for an old dog+
